Empowering Independence. Building Strength. Honoring Autonomy.
Transitioning into young adulthood brings a unique set of challenges, particularly for neurodivergent individuals and those navigating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
At Swell, we believe that the path to independence shouldn’t be confined to a clinic room.
Our Adaptive Wellness program blends advanced behavioral science with exercise physiology to create active, community-based support for older teens and young adults on Maui.
We meet our clients out in the real world—utilizing somatic movement, food safety, and community navigation as powerful vehicles to build physical coordination, executive functioning, and real-world life skills.
What We Focus On
Outdoor Somatic Movement and Community Classes
Using a Kinesiology framework, we design custom strength, balance, and coordination programs tailored to unique sensory profiles. Instead of a traditional gym, we utilize Maui’s beautiful beach parks for functional exercise, or support individuals as they integrate into local group fitness classes, building body awareness and social fluency in real-world environments.
Grocery Navigation and Functional Executive Skills
True independence happens out in the community. Utilizing structured task analyses, we coach young adults through the tangible routines of daily life—including creating shopping lists, budgeting, navigating local grocery stores, and managing the executive demands of community outings.
Cooking, Nutrition, and Food Safety
Building confidence at home starts right in the kitchen. Using clear, step-by-step visual breakdowns, we coach young adults through the sensory and executive routines of food preparation—including mastering safe knife handling, reading nutrition labels, and executing low-stress meal prep. By combining somatic pacing with accessible cooking techniques, we transform daily nourishment into an empowering, safe, and highly predictable routine for at-home independence.

The Swell Approach: How It Works
Step 1: The Initial Discovery Consultation
We meet in a comfortable community setting to assess the young adult’s physical baseline, sensory profile, and current life-skill goals.
Step 2: The Functional Task Analysis
We break down complex routines (like cooking a safe meal or navigating a store) into clear, manageable steps tailored to their learning style.
Step 3: Real-World Coaching Sessions
We meet at local beach parks, grocery stores, or community spaces to practice movement, food safety, and executive skills where they actually matter.
Step 4: Data-Driven Progress Tracking
We monitor behavioral milestones and physical consistency, adjusting the program to celebrate wins and honor the individual’s autonomy.
